Signing Up for a Volunteer Shift

Only students already certified for a group can sign up for that group's shifts; uncertified shifts show greyed out with "Training certification required".
- Go to the "Volunteer" page
- Find a group you're certified for and browse open shifts
- Confirm it doesn't conflict with your other confirmed shifts
- Click "Sign up"
The system automatically checks for time conflicts: if the shift overlaps with any of your other confirmed shifts in any group (not just the same one), signup is blocked; shifts that merely touch back-to-back don't count as overlapping.
Cancelling a shift requires at least 24 hours' notice — after that it can no longer be self-cancelled.
